Paboco, The Paper Bottle Company, launches the next generation paper bottle by starting large-scale production, marking a milestone towards a more sustainable future. “This is a fantastic opportunity for conscious brands and consumers looking to make a real difference,” says CEO Tim Silbermann.

La Next Gen paper bottle represents Paboco's dedication to pursuing its vision of fully bio-based bottle packaging. With a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Slangerup, Denmark, Paboco is preparing for large-scale production. The objective? Deliver more than 20 million paper bottles by the end of 2025.

Based on the idea of using less fossil and more natural materials, the new generation paper bottle offers a minimal barrier solution while remaining fully recyclable as paper packaging. Paboco offers brands design flexibility, allowing them to choose between standard paper bottles or custom designs.

Initially aimed at brands in the beauty and home care sectors, the Next Gen paper bottle shows promise in various industries including premium spirits, food and beverages, vitamins and pills, pet care and more, indicating advancements significant in these areas. They are fiber-based containers with FSC certification and with less climate and environmental impact.

With ALPLA as a new majority shareholder and long-time trusted partner, Paboco is poised for accelerated growth, positioning itself as a leader in sustainable packaging solutions. CEO Tim Silbermann underlines this momentum by stating: “The next generation paper bottle marks a milestone in our journey towards a fully bio-based paper bottle. With the support of ALPLA and our focus on large-scale production, we are moving from a pioneer in innovation to a progressive company, ready to fill our order book. Ultimately, we are here to make a sustainable impact and start a movement by putting paper bottles in the hands of all consumers.”

Since 2021, Paboco has been testing its innovative products in partnership with members of the Pioneer Community: The Absolut Group, Carlsberg Group, The Coca-Cola Company, L'Oréal and Procter & Gamble.

“After years of innovation and successful collaborations, we are now ready to launch the next generation paper bottle on a larger scale,” concludes Tim Silbermann.
