El Packaging Cluster recognizes six associated companies and rewards their good initiatives related to the packaging industry, with the aim of serving as inspiration and reference for the good evolution of the industrial ecosystem.
This year, the award for the best collaborative project in the field of digitalization and industry 4.0 will be awarded to VAVIT project, coordinated by the companies Masia Vallformosa, Juvé & Camps, Ais Vision, INNOVI Cluster and the Packaging Cluster. The objective of the project is to increase productivity in the wine sector, increasing quality and improving product safety at four points in the process: tap inspector, to ensure correct positioning; loading dock, to quantify product inputs and outputs; skin inspector, to ensure wines without impurities; and 360º inspection with deep learning to see all the elements that make up the wine bottle. Some of these new processes will test digital solutions that use artificial intelligence.
The flexible packaging company Enplater Alta Segarra will be recognized as the company with the best strategic change project to improve competitiveness. This is a new investment destined for a new company headquarters, located in central Catalonia, which aims to collect packaging waste from customers in order to convert it back into raw materials. Furthermore, in this new headquarters the flexible product that they currently produce with rigid packaging will be complemented in order to offer a more complete solution to customers, with lid and tray.
Finally, the TEB cooperative group, which offers job opportunities to people with intellectual disabilities, will be awarded for its ability to generate new projects that add value to the packaging industry and create community within the sector. An example of these projects is the “Smart-Essence 4 Kids”, emerged as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is an aromatizer for masks, developed collaboratively together with the aroma and fragrance manufacturer Carinsa, the Abacus group, the Sentinel company, the Kids Cluster and the Packaging Cluster, with the aim of generating a positive impact on emotions of young people, improve the interaction of users with the mask and make the adaptation process more bearable.
The awards ceremony will be held during the Packaging Night, the emblematic event that brings together more than 150 professionals from the packaging industry, and which will take place next Wednesday, December 13 at the Alimara Hotel in Barcelona. These recognitions not only celebrate the individual achievements of these outstanding companies, but also serve as a source of inspiration and reference for the continued advancement of the industry as a whole.
The Packaging Cluster is proud to recognize and support companies that stand out in the implementation of exemplary practices, thus contributing to the growth and sustainable development of the industrial ecosystem.
