IV Meeting on Packaging and Circular Economy

The imminent entry into force of the Royal Decree on packaging and packaging waste has created a lot of uncertainty among manufacturers and users of packaging and packaging, as well as throughout its value chain. In order to resolve all doubts, as well as present success stories of companies that have successfully implemented sustainability policies, the Cluster of Innovation in Container and Packaging has summoned all the agents of the supply chain to the IV Packaging and Circular Economy Meeting.

It is an appointment in an open debate format that will take place on December 1 at the Chamber Business School in Valencia, and which is financed by the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Labor of the Generalitat Valenciana. It also has the collaboration of Innotech (Emsur-Coexpan Innovation and Development Center), Alpesa-Upalet, Grupo La Plana, Grabalfa and the Aimplas technology center.

It has a unique format, since it allows attendees to interact with the speakers to answer questions. In the words of Jesús Pérez, director of the Packaging and Packaging Cluster, is one of the keys to success and that "we can celebrate this fourth consecutive edition of a meeting that began with the purpose of coordinating all the agents in the packaging and packaging value chain and their waste, and that today is more current than ever due to the imminent legislation that affects the entire sector and that requires companies to bet on incorporating innovation and technology”.

The meeting includes an initial presentation and four thematic tables, after the welcome that will be offered by Amaya Fernandez, president of the Cluster; Y Empar Martinez, Autonomous Secretary of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Tourism.

faisal assakale, Indirect Tax Manager in Ayming and Fernando Cacho, partner in Broseta Abogados, will address the issue of the technical and legislative environment of the packaging industry at the first discussion table.

After a networking coffee, Ismael Sanchez, head of purchasing and commercial department at Sp-Berner; Isabel García, director of the paper division in Hinojosa; Y Victor Monge, development of recycling and circular economy in Novapet, will be in charge of participating in the following discussion table on recycling and post consumption.

Mari Pau Balaguer, strategic product manager sustainability at Constantia Flexible; Lorena Rodríguez, packaging group leader at the Aimplas technology center; Paula Torrijos, head of packaging and circular economy projects at Itene; Y bosh shell, responsible for packaging projects at Ainia, take part in the third discussion table on the technologies that drive the circular economy.

In the fourth discussion table, four leading companies in the field of food will present experiences and success stories. Specifically, they will be present martha risk, director of innovation, R&D and sustainability at Chovi; Virginia Muriel, sustainability manager at García Carrión; Virginia Esteve, quality director of Babaria; Y Alex Benet, sourcing director at Pastas Gallo.
