Berry announces a Global Center of Excellence and Circular Innovation Hub in Barcelona

BerryGlobal start developing your International Center of Excellence and Circular Innovation Center in Barcelona, Spain, from the third quarter of 2023.

The Center will provide access to a new generation of circular products and industry-leading research and development experts. It will be a collaborative space for the design of innovative products adapted to the sustainability objectives of customers. In addition, it will generate new job opportunities and support Berry's global diversity and inclusion strategy, employing talent from Barcelona.

“The ability to access innovative and sustainable packaging solutions is more important than ever as our customers around the world strive to shift to a net-zero circular economy,” he said. Jean-Marc Galvez, President of Consumer Packaging International. “By creating a focused, educational and collaborative space to push the boundaries of circular innovation, our new hub in one of Europe's most dynamic regions in Catalonia, Spain, will help clients meet their ambitious sustainability goals while expanding the Berry's talented and diverse workforce."

The new Berry hub will support Bmore's development of innovative circular solutions, which further a path towards circularity by increasing the use of recycled content, minimizing waste and improving recyclability. The center will also facilitate work on new projects that support circularity with client collaborations. Including an interactive learning space: visitors will be able to see Berry's latest sustainable products and discover advances in the science, manufacturing and design of resin materials for reuse and recyclability.

Strategically located, the center will be the new work space for more than fifty team members from all over Barcelona with the intention of increasing their staff according to business needs and customer collaboration. This will support Berry's commitment to building and maintaining a diverse, talented and high performing workforce. The center will also serve as a center for international collaboration due to its proximity to Barcelona International Airport.
