Capsa Packaging will show its star solution at Hispack, the Capsa 2in1® box, recognized for its versatility, functionality and capacity for reuse.

Data such as those collected in the independent study carried out jointly by the Packaging Cluster, the AEI Tèxtils, the Catalan Waste Agency and Leitat, to know the environmental impact that different types of packaging can produce show that, simply by reusing the box Capsa 2in1® six times, it is possible to reduce the carbon footprint by 80%, water consumption by 84%, and the consumption of fossil resources by 82% for a distance of 50 km and a 3.5T truck.

Best Cases will present the success story of Capsa and MediaMarkt to an international audience

Capsa Packaging has been selected by Hispack as one of the companies that will present one of its latest success stories within the “Spanish Solutions” framework. Included in the Best Cases program, this initiative has been developed to present to international visitors those success stories of Spanish exhibitors that the organizers want to highlight for their innovation and export capacity.

In the case of Capsa Packaging, the company will have the opportunity to inform Hispack visitors of the project carried out jointly with MediaMarkt, one of the main companies selling electronic products and household appliances in Spain.

The retail company has been demonstrating a solid commitment to sustainability for years through its “Better Way” initiative, managing to stand out not only for its wide product offering, but also for its leadership in the fight to minimize the environmental impact of its operations.

To achieve this, last year they decided to implement the multifunction and reusable cardboard box, Capsa 2in1®, in their internal logistics process between stores and the logistics hub in Pinto, Madrid. This sustainable solution from Capsa Packaging can be reused up to 6 times, saving the use of that same number of conventional boxes. This allows us to reduce the carbon footprint by 80% and the water consumption (84km distance) associated with its production by 50%.

For all this, international visitors to Hispack will be able to see how the results of this success story carried out at MediaMarkt were as immediate as they were notable: a significant decrease in both the generation of packaging waste and the number of boxes purchased. In addition to a notable reduction in the carbon footprint, and a decrease of up to 43% in the content breakage rate.
