All Collective Systems of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAPs) of Spain and companies meet for the first time at an event to address the new business obligations related to the management of industrial and commercial packaging waste, imposed by the Royal Decree on packaging and packaging waste. This meeting, co-organized by the Container and Packaging Innovation Cluster and Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV)Will take place on January 17 in the in the assembly hall of the North Forum of FERIA VALENCIA, located at Av. de les Fires, s/n, 46035 València
The event will have the participation of all the SCRAPs that currently exist at the national level, among them, ENVALORATE, ECOVIDRIO, GENCI, IMPLY, PROCIRCULAR, ECOLEC PACKAGING, CARDIGANS AND JUMPERS GRETA, RECYCLIA, AEVAE, CIRCULAR CARDBOARD, SIGPHITH y ECOEMBES. All these collection and transport entities or treatment and recycling plants will take advantage of the opportunity to present their systems and will also have stands to expand the information required by attendees.
One of the highlights of the event is the presentation of Jorge Blanco, general director of Environmental Quality and Environmental Education of the Department of Environment of the Generalitat Valenciana, Y de Enrique Lopez, head of the Prevention, Reuse, Promotion of Recycling and Circular Resource Management Service of the Department of Environment of the Generalitat Valenciana, on “New business obligations for the management of commercial and industrial packaging. The role of SCRAPs”. The speakers will convey to companies the importance of these systems, which have adopted an essential role in creating a value chain that guarantees sustainable waste management and the circular economy.
New business responsibilities
In this way, the entities present will have the opportunity to clarify any doubts that may arise in relation to the legislative developments and to learn first-hand about the offer of each of the SCRAPs that currently operate with the aim of facilitating compliance with these requirements. Likewise, the role of Collective Extended Producer Responsibility Systems in the new business obligations for the management of commercial and industrial packaging will be addressed.
