Successful call for the IV edition of the Retail Forum

Retail Forum 2017, an event held in Spain and organized by iKN, brought together on February 9 in Madrid more than 100 speakers and 19 CEOs from leading companies, who offered their views on the challenges and future trends of the Retail.

In the different open debates during the day, bringing together almost a thousand attendees, the speakers addressed issues such as the profitability of eCommerce; the importance of the physical store as a key point for customer loyalty; the priorities in terms of technology investment for Retail businesses or how to achieve the goal of 'channel zero' or total integration of sales channels. In this fourth edition, special emphasis was also placed on personalization and mobile always as strategies to achieve the best shopper experience.

The store of the future
Magic mirrors -capable of recognizing the consumer in front of them and offering them the products that best suit their tastes and needs-, intelligent changing rooms or robots as shopping assistants were some of the innovations that the guests at Retail Forum 2017 were able to see firsthand hand in La Tienda del Futuro, the space that, one more year, had a place in the reference forum of the sector; a host of technological innovations that will significantly improve the shopping experience, while increasing business productivity; and that, according to the experts, will be a reality in the horizon of three years.

Likewise, during the event, the operation of the Back-end Technology designed to anticipate customer behavior based on external factors, such as the weather, and improve the management of store stocks, and the Smart Machines, robotic systems capable of to offer the consumer the most interesting promotions based on their previous behavior.

Among the technological novelties that were presented, the Public Influx Prediction Systems also stand out, capable of determining workflows in advance and planning the hours of the store staff, increasing business productivity.

Pepper Attendant, known as the robot with a heart, designed to interpret the mood and characteristics of its interlocutor -and whose cutting-edge technology allows it to show empathy and maintain fluid communication with customers-, received the attendees at Retail Forum 2017 in the opening session, which was followed by various discussion panels where key issues of the future of Retail were analyzed, such as omnichannel, innovation or Cross Border commerce.
