The edition number 19 of Congress of the National Association of Continuous Label Manufacturers, ANFEC, it was a success. 248 people attended the annual meeting, held from May 11 to 14 at the Hotel Princesa Yaiza in Lanzarote.
The professional program began with the 2017 General Assembly, in which the economic data of ANFEC for the past year were presented. "Labels are the sector that is working the best within the graphic communication industry," said José Ramón Benito, president of the Association, who added that despite the good data, one should not become complacent. From that idea came the title of the congress: “A good present… does it guarantee a good future?”.
The conference papers were very well received. Robert Koch, product manager of Fujifilm EMEA flexo and offset equipment, presented the latest developments in the firm's machinery, focused on achieving green solutions for packaging producers.
The following speakers were Alejandro García, president of Aspack –the Spanish Association of Cardboard Packaging Manufacturers–; and Jesús Alarcón, secretary general of Neobis –the Graphic Communication Association–, who reviewed the economic data of the sector, consumption trends and behavior patterns that guide our decision-making.
This change in paradigm and habits was also the focus of the conference by Miquel Olivé, HP Business Manager Labels & Packaging Iberia. Then Javier Sirvent, advisor on digital transformation, intervened.
The presentation by Jeroen van Bauwel, Xeikon Product Marketing Director, focused on the new possibilities offered by digital printing and new market trends.
Mónica Esgueva, economist, writer and expert in mindfulness, presented this philosophy, which proposes the daily practice of meditation with its consequent benefits for health and well-being.
Jordi Baeta, Market Development Manager Europe at Avery Dennison spoke about the smart tag, which facilitates tasks such as taking inventory in stores and managing expiration dates.
The last speaker at the XIX Anfec Congress was the corporate mentalist Javier Luxor.
There were also recreational activities, such as the gala dinner with which this edition of the Anfec Congress closed.
