FM Logistics recently inaugurated a new module of its logistics platform in Illescas, Toledo, of 86.000 m2. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Economy, Business and Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, Patricia Franco, the General Director of Business, Javier Rosell, the Delegate of the Toledo Board, Javier Úbeda, the Mayor of Illescas, José Manuel Tofiño , the First Deputy Mayor, Elvira Manzanaque, the Second Deputy Mayor, Francisco Rodríguez and the Councilor for Childhood, Family, Training and Employment, Sandra Quevedo, as well as the Director FM Logistic Illescas, Álvaro Íñiguez.
This second phase of expansion will allow FM Logistic to provide logistics coverage to new clients that will be added to the company's portfolio. The new facilities will increase the workforce. With this incorporation, the FM Logistic team in Illescas will exceed 100 employees working in operations, in addition to the more than 50 people who already provide their services in the central departments of Systems, HR, National and International Transport, Administration and Commercial .
With this expansion, the FM Logistic Illescas platform will occupy approximately 32%, the total 86.000 m2 that it will have when all the expansion phases are completed. On a 159.000m2 plot, these facilities are equipped with parking for workers 'and clients' vehicles with parking spaces for electric cars, parking for heavy vehicles, a security checkpoint for access and landscaped communal areas for staff to rest.
In the construction of this new module, as in the existing part, the highest quality standards have been followed which, added to those of sustainable construction, safety and comfort, already have the LEED Gold Certification. The new facilities have been built using the most modern methods on the market: preformed concrete walls with a double internal and external insulating structure; fully automatic and dimmable LED lighting system with area movement detectors; electric docks with exterior signaling of traffic lights; trailer springs; electro-pneumatic exhaust system with double load; installation of solar panels for self-consumption; anti-fire system with last generation sprinklers, anti-fire sensor system by gas aspiration ...
FM Logistic's facilities in Illescas also offer significant and differential characteristics, among them: flexibility to the growth of the needs of its clients (either L / P or for specific peaks due to seasonality in sales), the synergies of being in a multi-client environment thanks to its privileged geographic location. The platform is located in the center of the Iberian Peninsula, which allows an Iberian distribution to be carried out in less than 24 hours, and less than 40 km from Madrid, which facilitates last-mile distribution in Madrid.
Future extensions will be designed according to the needs of future customers with estimated average times of 6 to 9 months, thanks to the fact that the FM Group has an engineering and architecture division (Baty - NG) that acts as a developer and construction company, thus speeding up construction deadlines.
