Spanish manufacturers of food processing machinery and packaging work to ensure the supply chain

Faced with the health emergency caused by the COVID-19, Spanish manufacturers of food processing machinery and packaging they maintain their activity to ensure the supply chain of activities considered essential by the Government. Aware of their important role in maintaining the supply chain of activities in essential sectors such as food, pharmacy and home and hygiene, they have adapted to provide all the required services with all security guarantees.

The Presidents of amec food, Jordi Vila, and amec packaging, Michele Palma, point out that "we continue to serve our customers, who need all our support to continue supplying products to the population at a time as complex as the one we are experiencing."

Most of the associated companies have organized themselves so that telephone and online technical support, as well as the urgent shipment of spare parts, is guaranteed, at the same time that they apply all protocols and sanitary recommendations. In this sense, they are operating in teleworking mode in all the functions that allow it, while the presence of production personnel has been reduced, organizing them by shifts, to ensure the mandatory safety distance between workers while maintaining the production.

The companies that are part of amec they generate an export volume of more than 6.650 million euros, export 55,6% of their turnover on average and invest 4,7% in innovation.
