Codorníu Raventós acquired a vineyard in the Carneros region of the Napa Valley. The winery was renamed as Artesa and has become a leading producer of artisan wines.
Artesa carried out a renovation project of its corporate identity, with the aim of transmitting a more Spanish look and field, attracting the American public and transmitting a more artisanal touch, since the name Artesa comes from “crafts”.
The agency Much developed the project around logo shaped like an 'A', based on the shape of the winery and its entrance door. The logo could be filled with original Codorniu poster cutouts. Each illustration is linked to a varietal. In the case of Carneros Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the illustrations are inspired by Gaudí.
For Artesa, a typeface was created that refers to the typeface used in Codorníu's original art deco posters. An illustrative calligraphic 'A' was also developed that is used as a general logo and is silk-screened directly onto the bottles for the estate's vineyard products.
Custom tiles incorporating the logo were commissioned, shipped from Barcelona to decorate the bar in the winery. Graphic material specially commissioned for Tempranillo-Cabernet Sauvignon, Tradició and Cask Reserva Especial adorns the walls of the room, creating an atmosphere as modern as Barcelona.
