Silgan Holdings Inc., A leading supplier of rigid packaging for consumer goods has announced that it has reached a definitive purchase agreement to acquire the thermoformed plastic food business. This business, with projected sales of approximately $100 million in 2012, provides thermoformed packaging solutions such as retort bowls and individual trays to many of the leading ready-to-eat and pre-cooked food companies.
