Silgan Holdings Inc., A leading supplier of rigid packaging for consumer goods, has announced that it has just reached a definitive purchase agreement to acquire the thermoformed plastic food business. This business, with expected sales of approximately $ 100 million in 2012, provides thermoformed packaging solutions such as retort bowls and individual trays for many of the leading pre-made and pre-cooked food companies.
