texen

For second consecutive Year, texen has received the EcoVadis Platinum medal thanks to its continuous progression in recent years.

“We don't get that recognition by acting alone. We owe this second platinum medal to the group's CSR excellence and the relentless commitment of all our stakeholders,” he comments. Remi Weidenmann, CEO of Texen. "It confirms our leadership in the metamorphosis of cosmetic packaging."

The group is moving rapidly towards its 2025 goals. The new CSR report focuses on the four main pillars: Environment, Society and Human Rights, Sustainable Sourcing and Ethics.

The use of recycled materials has represented a great challenge for the teams. Its use multiplied by four during the year. In 2022, 75% of the group's offering included an eco-designed solution, up from 57% in 2021, an increase of 18%. More than 10% of the plastics used for the new references were recycled or bio-based, up from 2,5% in 2021, an increase of 8%.

Regarding the reduction of CO2 emissions, the work carried out in the eight factories of the group has involved the isolation of 150 presses, the detection of compressed air leaks and the optimization of temperatures in the processes, which has led to a reduction of the equivalent of 738 tons of CO2. Texen Décoration, the plant of the company specializing in surface treatments, reinforced its VOC (volatile organic compounds) biofiltration system to recover them in three of the seven painting machines at the plant, representing a saving of 75.000 m3/h . The site obtained ISO 14001 certification and Texen Poland obtained ISCC+ certification.

Prioritize well-being in the workplace
The employability of team members is a key challenge for the group. In 2022, the group's training program advanced to offer employees new skills (more than two days of training on average per employee). This is in addition to internships and traineeships (the group employs more than 35 trainees in France alone). Mobility is key to the group's professional development projects: more than 70% of managers are hired internally. In addition to training, inclusion is a major concern for the group. It has launched a program for the integration of people with disabilities in collaboration with the French national organization Agefiph.

Sustainable Sourcing and Ethics
Texen is committed to aligning its activity with its core values and sharing them. In 2022, 100% of its strategic suppliers signed a Sustainable Sourcing Charter and 48,5% of them carried out a CSR self-audit. 13% of the group's sales were conditioned by a strict solidarity sourcing approach. Lastly, all group employees receive training on the Code of Good Conduct and those exposed to risks of conflict of interest benefit from additional mentoring.
