The cardboard packaging sector maintains its production at 91% of its capacity

47% of companies that manufacture cardboard container considers that it will need six to 12 months to overcome the crisis caused by the expansion of the coronavirus and the slowdown in the economy that it has caused, although the sector continues to operate at 91% of its capacity.

These are data from the survey on the current situation and prospects for recovery that has been prepared aspack among its associates and that reveals that, although 27% of the companies in the sector have not suffered economic losses due to the crisis, 33% have lost up to 25% of their turnover.

The main concern for the future for entrepreneurs in the sector is to be prepared in case the crisis lasts over time (60%), while the remaining 40% are equally concerned about keeping the business open and keeping all positions of work.

60% of those surveyed believe that teleworking will continue to be promoted in the future in those positions that allow it; 5% believe that the flexibility of entry and exit times will be maintained to avoid crowds and almost three-quarters of the participants in the survey believe that the number of face-to-face meetings will be reduced.

Regarding the aid for companies launched by the Government, 40% of the companies in the sector have not needed any to maintain their activity, but 47% have availed themselves of the possibility of doing an ERTE and 33% You have applied for a guaranteed loan. Only 34% of businessmen in the sector are not very optimistic or not very optimistic about the prospects for the recovery of the sector. The remaining 66% say they are moderately optimistic or neutral. In addition, 53% believe that they will be able to keep their entire workforce without having to make redundancies.
