Verallia Zaragoza, finalist for the 2014 Award for Business Excellence in Aragon

Verallia, a subsidiary of the Saint-Gobain group, leader in the production of glass containers for food and beverages, has seen the activity of its headquarters in Zaragoza recognized by being a finalist for the 2014 Award for Business Excellence in Aragon.

The firm, which makes innovation and differentiation its strategic axis, was one of the 82 companies that presented their candidacy in this XVIII edition, in which the historical record of companies in search of excellence has been broken.
The factory, Verallia Zaragoza, inaugurated in 1968, has two ovens with which it produces more than 400 million containers per year of 12 different colors. Among its clients are La Zaragozana as well as the wineries of all the DO de Aragón. In this plant, in 2013 and within the EFQM framework, the WCM (World Class Manufacturing) system was successfully implemented. This is based on the improvement of staff skills, innovation and efficiency of processes, which has allowed savings of more than 2 million euros.
In addition, Verallia Zaragoza faces the next 5 years with an investment plan of about 50 million euros, which will allow it to continue to be a benchmark in the glass industry in the peninsula.
