A tape-inspired dispenser for color cosmetics and a dissolvable paper sheet formula for cleaning products were among the award winners. IT Awards 2024 at MakeUp in Los Angeles.

MakeUp in LosAngeles 2024 began with the reveal of the IT Awards winners. The competition that rewards exhibitors' innovations attracted more than 110 applications this year and the winners were selected from 31 finalists.

Packaging

HCP Packaging won the IT award in the packaging category for its GRAFIK compact spare part. The PET hinged PET box features a spring suspension system that secures the product and ensures it is easy to remove and refill. A bayonet ring locks it in place; The outside of the ring is customizable.

Accessories

The award in the Accessories category went to texen its Multi Intensity Brush Eyes with patented rotating mechanism. The height and density of the eye brush bristles are adjustable and the double-ended applicator also contains a beveled eyeliner brush.

Full service

The contract manufacturer CTK CLIP won the full service award for Aqua Zero Sheet. The formula on single-use sheets of paper that dissolves in water transforms into a creamy foam. In addition to hand washing, it can be used for cleansing foams, shampoos, soaps and shower gels. The envelopes are presented individually in PET containers.

Formulation

Gotha Cosmetics won in the Formulation category for its Waterdrop Eye Stick. The high-water gel formula transforms into a “refreshing layer” upon application. It has an ultra-glossy finish with intense color thanks to a mixture of pearlescent pigments made from glass and synthetic mica. The eyeshadow meets Sephora Clean standards.

Coup de Cœur: the jury's favorite

The jury's favorite Coup de Coeur award went to the Italian company Regi Laboratories by Hypnotic 3volution, a triphasic facial serum that protects the skin, improving the barrier effect and fighting inflammation. Simply shaking the bottle creates the emulsion, without the need for emulsifiers or high-speed mixers. The ingredients in the formula, including Chinese peony, are 93% naturally derived.

Ambassador's favorite

New this year in Los Angeles is the Ambassador's Favorite award. The ambassador of the show Ana Allen awarded the prize to Helix by Chromavis Fareva. The tape dispenser-inspired packaging features the patented flexible formula in roll form. The water-activated formula is both a highlighter and an eyeshadow. Consumers simply break off small pieces and apply them directly to the skin.
