An innovative water recycling unit reduces the use of wastewater and detergents

At Labelexpo Europe 2023, Asahi Photoproducts will also present its AWP wastewater recycling unitTM for use with AWP plate processing systemsTM. AWP water washable platesTM-DEW CleanPrint by Asahi Photoproducts have achieved Carbon Neutral certification from the Carbon Trust. In addition, to further increase the sustainability of its platemaking solutions, Asahi has developed this innovative water recycling system for AWP platemaking equipment.TM. The unit features patented filter technology developed by Asahi Kasei that reduces wastewater by 75% and detergent usage by 40%. In a standard 10-hour-a-day platemaking environment, the system is capable of processing plates up to 38 square meters. As a result, the sustainability of flexo companies is further increased.

This filtration technology, under the brand name Microza®, is Asahi Kasei's hollow fiber membrane separation technology that offers innovative water treatment capabilities as well as a wide range of uses in other industrial processes. At the AWP wastewater recycling unitTM, this technology has been optimized to comply with the increasingly strict regulations on the discharge of wastewater. The filter cartridge can be easily replaced, depending on the frequency of replacement on the volume of plate production of the customer; and the small amount of treated wastewater can be collected by a contractor for disposal.

The road to Solvent ZERO

AWP water wash platesTM and CleanFlat with Carbon Neutral certification are a sustainable bet for the production of flexographic plates. At the show, Asahi Photoproducts will distribute an informative whitepaper explaining the importance of carbon neutrality, why CleanPrint technology was a key element in achieving certification, and discussing both the process the company went through to Get it as your future plans.
