When Lancôme decided to launch a makeup collection ultraselective with the Louvre, went to Texen Beauty Partners, which orchestrated the project with its network of partners.
When designing this limited edition makeup with the Louvre Museum, L'Oréal imagined unique creations as works of art. The design of this palette is testimony to this: the image presents the Greek poetess Corinna (or Corine) in a work by the French sculptor Edme Etienne François Gois, exhibited in the Richelieu wing of the Louvre. The product quickly became iconic, offering multiple skin and eye applications with silky formulas to apply with a brush or fingers.
Among the makeup palettes offered by Texen Beauty Partners, Lancôme chose a square, simple and minimalist shape. Inside the base, a specific insert houses five containers and spaces for two brushes. The formula is pressed and stamped directly onto the motif using a technique that aims to enhance colors and offer enhanced shine. On the lid is a mirror, protected by a frosted sticker printed with the Lancôme & Louvre logo.
The compact owes its delicacy to the high quality of the image, which shows a full-frame close-up of the sculpture on the cover. The Lancôme logo is added thanks to hot stamping.
An image developed thanks to heat transfer
The box is metalized on the outside before being decorated, and therein lay the challenge of this creation: to restore an artistic photograph in high quality. To do this, Texen used the heat transfer label technique, by which a heat-printed film is applied.
The Texen Beauty Partners teams managed each step of this development, piloting the different operations with their associated suppliers, from injection to decoration through the assembly of the different pieces.
