Veralia has announced its purpose for the next decades: "Re-imagining glass for a sustainable future"

Verallia has been innovating for some time to significantly reduce its CO2 emissions: from the energy consumption of its furnaces, to the use of raw materials and glass, as well as in the design and transport of its products.

The new purpose of Verallia has been defined together with its stakeholders (internal and external) over the last few months and concentrates the company's objective for the coming years. Recycling and reuse are already integrated into its business model, but for glass to be fully sustainable, the company wants to get out of its direct scope of action and collaborate with institutions and society in general to make the circular economy a reality.

Verallia is committed to actively collaborate in three areas main work:
• Accelerate innovation in the value chain: Verallia invests in increasingly innovative solutions to reduce its carbon emissions, from packaging design to product transportation, which in turn help the Group's customers to lower its own environmental impact.
• Make reuse a beneficial solution for the planet and glass containers: Verallia promotes the reuse of glass containers in the locations where it operates to meet the increasingly high expectations of its customers and consumers.
• Mobilize the population to increase recycled glass: Verallia is committed to strengthening recycling systems in all its markets.

michel giannuzzi, President and CEO of Verallia thanks employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders and representatives of the local community for their commitment and contribution to carry out this work collectively. «Re-imagining glass for a sustainable future is an authentic purpose, in line with our business, our history and our values; and ambitious, because it places the circular economy and the transition towards a carbon neutral system at the center of the company's strategy and actions, ”he states.
