Aspects such as nutritional information, ingredients, the origin of the raw material or even the size of the letters will be some changes that the consumer will notice from December of this year in the labeling of food products, since, during that month, it will enter the new regulation 1169/2011 is in force.
The change in labeling represents a challenge for the food industry, as it has to modify certain aspects of the information that it transmits to the consumer in its products. To do this, you will have to consider mandatory regulations. Within months of implementation, these changes may raise certain questions for companies: how to indicate allergens? How to incorporate the net amounts on the labeling? How to include the percentage of certain ingredients? Or how to combine the specific obligations of the legislation that applies to the food in particular with the general labeling regulations?
In order to clarify these regulations and their application, ainia technological center will hold the training session "Labeling and information on food products" at its facilities on 12 March. The six-hour day, aimed at companies, professionals and organizations in the agri-food sector, will address the mandatory elements specified in the Regulation; nutritional labeling and its implementation phases; nutritional claims and health claims ("Health Claims"), accommodating specific products such as "without", "Natural" or "traditional", as well as flexibility criteria.
