Exceptionally, due to the postponement of the exhibition of equipment, ingredients and technology for the food industry to September 2023, Alimentaria FoodTech will have its own space in the next edition of Alimentaria, to be held from the 4 to the 7 of April of 2022 in the Gran Via area of Fira de Barcelona.
The FoodTech Area will offer a representative sample of some of its sectors in a space of nearly 2.000m² strategically located in Hall 3, next to the Intercarn and Interlact halls. In fact, the meat sector is the main demander of the equipment and ingredients that will be exhibited in the FoodTech Area, while the dairy sector is another of the sectors most interested in its offer. In addition, this space will have its own agenda of activities, as well as an exclusive buyers program.
Ricardo Márquez, director of Alimentaria FoodTech, explains that "the FoodTech Area of Alimentaria 2022 aims to be a connection bridge with the next edition of our show, which will be held from 26 of the septiembre 29 of 2023». According to Márquez, “in this unique space we will advance a representative offer from various sectors, with a special role for ingredients and processing. This is a good opportunity for professionals who have missed the valuable face-to-face interactions that take place at the fair».
At this time, 35 companies have already confirmed their participation, a third of which had not participated in the previous edition of Alimentaria FoodTech.
One of the companies that has decided to commit to the FoodTech Area is Handtmann, a worldwide supplier of stuffing and portioning machines, as well as automation solutions for food production. Its Managing Director, jordi elvira, considers that "for the reasons that we all know, personal relationships in general have cooled down a lot and little by little we must try to return to normality". For this reason, he explains that “it seemed like a great idea to us to include this space dedicated to technology in Alimentaria 2022. In this way, we can make an advance in person, both to visitors and exhibitors, of all our novelties. In fact, these last two years Handtmann has invested a lot in the development of new technologies for the food industry, and exhibiting at Alimentaria is a good way to present some of our products as a preview before the edition of Alimentaria FoodTech 2023, in which we will also participate.
controlsa, manufacturer of industrial doors and enclosures, is another outstanding exhibitor in the Foodtech Area of Alimentaria 2022. As its Sales Manager argues, Sergio Iglesias, «We have been exhibiting at Alimentaria FoodTech for 30 years, we will be at the 2023 edition and on this occasion we especially value having synergies with all Alimentaria sectors. We always present novelties and this year will not be an exception.
Iglesias also points out that “we are looking to expand our business contacts and our expectations are quite high. Every time we participate in a fair we notice a jump in sales in the following months. Although everything has been more complex with the pandemic, we hope that the fair will serve as a catalyst, that when it is held we will already have a certain normality and a good influx of public, especially international ».
This initiative is part of Alimentaria FoodTech's plan to stay in permanent contact with its industry until its next celebration, from September 26 to 29, 2023. Thus, the fair has scheduled various meetings with its represented sectors through digital and face-to-face formats aimed at offer new business opportunities. One of them is the congress on food safety Barcelona Biofilm Summit, to be held in the last quarter of 2022.
