The members of the Executive Committee of Fedemco, headed by its president, Enrique Soler Segrelles, have visited the facilities of the Technological Institute Aidimme, Technological Institute of Metal Mechanics, Furniture, Wood, Packaging and Related. This is a technical and institutional visit with the double objective of reinforcing and improving collaborations and synergies between the two institutions and improving the studies and certification systems that the Institute carries out on containers, packaging and materials from Fedemco associates.

During the visit to Aidimme, its president, Fernando Saludes Garcia, has pointed out that “collaboration between technological institutes; sectoral federations and administrations, it is essential to support companies, especially small and medium-sized SMEs, which take on the challenge of innovating and certifying their products, thus increasing their value. We know that certification and circularity are key for the wooden packaging sector that is immersed in new legislation at the state and European level”.

Fedemco recognized that companies in the wood sector have in Aidimme the right technological partner to develop their R+D+i projects, as well as a solvency certifying entity that must be valued at a level, not only national, but also also international. For this reason, its president, Enrique Soler, requested to take an active part in the life of the Institute, either as Fedemco has historically done as part of its Board or with one of its industrialists.

Aidimme currently certifies Fedemco associates with the Grow Quality seal of approval, to which the meeting was used to update some of its technical aspects and the review of the analyzes that differentiate wooden containers from those of other materials. Likewise, the Food Contact Safety mark, which guarantees compliance with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 2023/2006 and safe migration limits.

The day closed with the proposal for collaboration by the two entities and a collaboration agreement, which will allow a more active relationship between the associations and a fluid work to improve assistance to associates and thereby improve their competitiveness.
