Alimentaria FoodTech rewards the most innovative companies in the sector

FoodTech Food, The exhibition of machinery, equipment, technology and ingredients for the agri-food industry, presented the Innova and Emprende Awards to four companies and four startups for their latest innovations. 

The FoodTech Emprende Awards, that distinguish those initiatives of newly created companies that provide outstanding technological innovation for the agri-food sector, have gone to four Spanish startups. The Navarrese Genbiome Applications has won in the Health and Wellness category with a solution that modulates the microbiota to improve metabolic dysfunctions and prevent the development of pathologies as prevalent as obesity or diabetes. 

The Valencian The Wine Luthier has won in the Smartagro category with an operating system created to help the wine sector mitigate risks, improve quality controls and profitability, and build customer loyalty. In the Sustainability and Circular Economy category, the award went to Cleanwood Technology (Euskadi) for its machinery to disinfect barrels and, at the same time, achieve their regeneration without using contaminating agents, only using high-frequency waves. Finally, Biobee Technologies(Badajoz) has received the award for Impact on transformation and conservation for a microchip developed for the food industry. 

The FoodTech Emprende Awards They represent an important boost for the promotion of business ideas developed by startups, technology-based firms and spin-offs in the machinery, technology and food ingredients sector that aspire to enter the market. The four winning firms have a space in the FoodTech Innovarena area of ​​Alimentaria FoodTech 2023 to present their innovation, which allows them to schedule interviews with key buyers from the national and international market and contact exhibitors, research centers, technological platforms, investors and accelerators present at the contest. 

Likewise, the awards Innova, the recognition of the most innovative products or services presented by exhibitors at Alimentaria FoodTech 2023, has gone to two Spanish companies, one German and one Danish. The Valencian Blockchain Traceability SL has won in the Digitalization category thanks to a tool with blockchain technology that facilitates the centralization of information and guarantees traceability and food safety. In the Processes and Transformation category, the winner was Hiperbaric SA. (Burgos) with a new non-thermal preservation technology for beverages that maintains quality, is sustainable, guarantees food safety and extends the useful life of the product. 

The Danish Lyra has won the Impact on Sustainability award with a solution that achieves, with ultraviolet light, the same results as with pasteurization but with energy savings of between 60% and 90%. And finally, the German multinational Sesotec has won in the Safety, Hygiene and Food Quality category with a metal detection system equipped with Artificial Intelligence that eliminates contaminating elements in all types of food products.
