Vinventions presents its latest innovation: NOMACORC Pops, a new stopper for sparkling wines.

Since its creation, Vinventions' NOMACORC range of closures has stood out for solving the persistent TCA problems present in natural and cork closures, becoming a solution for the wine industry. With the launch of Pops, Vinventions is now entering the sparkling wine market.

Its sensory neutrality protects the delicate profile of sparkling wines from any organoleptic deviation, while its mechanical properties ensure optimal conservation of dissolved carbon dioxide and prevent excessive oxygen entry.

“In a time of climate change where companies' commitment to sustainable development is increasingly evident, Pops offers the competitive advantage of being the only sparkling wine stopper with a neutral carbon footprint and designed to be recyclable,” he says. Romain Thomas – Product Manager at Nomacorc.

Like the Green Line range, Pops are It is made from sustainable and renewable raw materials derived from sugar cane. Pops brings to the world of sparkling wines all the oenological and environmental features for which NOMACORC is known in the still wine market.

To celebrate the launch of this new solution in early 2024, Vinventions is proud to have closed its first sale with an ideal partner, the prestigious Italian winery Astoria Wines: “Always vigilant about innovation, continuous improvement and a 360º approach to sustainability - whether in the social, environmental or cultural sphere -, we enthusiastically begin this collaboration with a renowned company such as Vinventions. After months of testing, we have decided to debut in a particularly prestigious event: the Giro d'Italia cycling event. The bottle of the Giro's official sparkling wine, uncorked every day on the podium, will feature the Nomacorc Pops stopper, the first sparkling wine stopper with a neutral carbon footprint,” explains Filippo Polegato, CEO of Astoria.

In fact, Astoria has selected the official bottle of the Giro d'Italia as the first sparkling wine bottled with this new stopper. (which, for the thirteenth consecutive year, comes from Treviso), which will travel the roads of the Peninsula from May 4 to 26. “This choice is also in line with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment towards sustainability, both for the traditional Giro and for the Giro-E with its electric bicycles. It is a path that we undertake together,” Polegato concludes.
