Lean & Green, the European initiative for decarbonization of logistics processes led in Spain by AECOC, has been recognized in the Sustainability Actions 2023 awards as one of the best sustainability actions of the year.

The awards, organized by the specialized media publishing company Compromiso RSE Custommedia, have highlighted the ability of the Lean & Green project to involve more than 100 companies in its project to reduce emissions derived from their logistics processes and share strategies and experiences to advance the decarbonization of the sector.

The director of Logistics and Transportation of AECOC, Maria Tena, highlighted “the growth achieved in recent years by Lean & Green, which has become a reference project in which companies work together to minimize the environmental footprint of their activity.”

Since its launch in 2017, the companies that are part of Lean & Green have achieved an average saving of 30% in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions derived from their logistics activity.
