The label industry is working almost at full capacity despite the crisis

Essential industries, such as food, pharmacy, hygiene and cleaning, have made it possible to maintain the activity of the label manufacturing companies at high levels in recent months, reaching 99% of its capacity in June.

This is clear from the survey of the sector's situation and prospects for recovery prepared by AIFEC among its associates during the month of June, from which it is also extracted that 88% of the association's companies have not been affected by the coronavirus crisis or have had less than 25% losses. Only the remaining 12 percent have had between 25 and 50 percent losses. Company templates have not been greatly affected: only a quarter of companies in the sector have applied an ERTE and 75 percent of those surveyed believe that it will keep the entire workforce in the future.

The challenges The current trends for entrepreneurs in the sector are to keep their workers (63%), seek new lines of business (58%) or keep the company open (54%). To face the challenges derived from this situation, 67% of the companies have used one or more of the government's support measures: in fact, 42% have requested a guaranteed loan; 25% have taken advantage of an ERTE and 13% have reduced the working hours of some workers. Looking ahead, the main concern for 63% of those surveyed is to be prepared in case the crisis drags on.

As for the prospects for recovery42% believe that it will take between six months and a year to return to pre-crisis levels of activity. Another 42% believe it will take one to two years, while 17% have not been affected. With these data, 70% of the entrepreneurs in the sector are between very optimistic and neutral regarding the recovery of the sector.

The crisis of coronavirus It has brought changes in the work model to adapt to security measures and social distancing, which will be maintained in the future according to most professionals in the sector. 83% believe that the trend of reducing the number of face-to-face meetings will continue. The flexibility of entry and exit times will also be maintained to avoid crowds and the promotion of teleworking in positions that allow it (42% for each).
