Koehler Paper

Kohler Paper, part of the Koehler Group, expands its offer of flexible packaging papers from the NexPlus® product group. Thanks to its very effective barrier against oxygen, grease and mineral oils, this product is suitable for metallizing, and therefore for food packaging, such as chips, chocolate bars and energy powders, as well as coffee, but also for items in the non-food area, such as cosmetic powders or solid presentations.

Koehler Paper has jointly developed with Nissha Metallizing Solutions a high value product, made from 100% virgin fiber cellulose from certified sustainable forest management and controlled sources, and is designed to be recyclable according to the latest test methods. Compared to traditional plastic packaging, flexible packaging papers reduce the CO2 footprint significantly, and contribute to a circular economy.

“The first performance tests of the packaging machines have given very promising results. In particular, the barrier properties with resistance to oil and fats of the bags produced are very good," he explains. Christoph Wachter, Division Manager Flexible Packaging Papers at Koehler Paper, Like all other Koehler NexPlus® papers, this product is also suitable for heat sealing. In addition, it is distinguished by its very high resistance, its efficient barrier, as well as printing properties.

Koehler Paper presents the concept of this product for the first time to the public at the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf from May 4 to 10 in the innovation hub.
